My story

[p]In an effort to bring together comedy, athletic achievement and value for money, I have set myself an ambitious challenge for 2018. Not since Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards has a complete lack of athletic ability mattered so little in the face of endless optimism and tight fitting sportswear. This year I am asking you to support me in the 'Double Challenge' where I start with running The London Marathon on 22nd April closely followed by running the London To Brighton Challenge on 26th May for a combined total of 89 miles (or 142 km). [/p][p] I am helping to raise money for two charities with this challenge. Firstly, MIND, the mental health charity. Mental health issues impact thousands of people across the UK and can be debilitating in numerous ways, impacting not only those affected but also family and friends as well. MIND provide much needed help across the country with a range of services for those most in need. My second charity is a bit closer to home, Brady Maccabi, a wellknown name in Jewish sporting circles. Brady provides a great sporting foundation in an atmosphere promoting sportsmanship, friendship and community for boys aged 8 to 60 (I'm sure the 60 year olds still think of themselves as boys!!).[/p][p] Given the strong links between exercise and mental health, this couch potato decided to go a step beyond the usual 10k or marathon and set myself a real challenge that will require more than the odd run around Mill Hill Park to prepare for. So if the idea of too much lycra, 5.30am runs in the rain, blisters, ice baths, energy gels, disappointed looks from my physio, more blisters and occasional chafing aren't for you personally, then please take this opportunity to sponsor me and help these two great charities instead.[/p][p] Thanks,[/p][p] Rob[/p]
