My story

[p]Thank you for visiting our team's fundraising page for the 2020 London legal sponsored walk. We're taking on 10K for justice on the 5th October.[/p][p]Despite the postponement of the London Legal Walk due to COVID-19, some of us will still be marking 8th June with a virtual 10,000 Steps for Justice, before coming together in solidarity and support for frontline free legal advice services at the main walk in October. The virus is creating an urgent and unprecedented need for advice agency services and it is vital that they continue to receive funding during this difficult period.[/p][p]Our team 10,000 Steps Team is: Lord Justice Flaux, Geoffrey Bond, Lord Justice Floyd, Lady Justice Simler, Mr Justice Colin Birss, Mrs Justice Sara Cockerill, Mr Justice Snowdon, Tom Christopherson, Bruce Harris and Stephen Fash[/p][p]Our London Legal Walk Team is: Lord Justice Flaux and Rt Hon Dame Elizabeth Gloster, Lord Justice Floyd, Lady Justice Simler, Mr Justice Colin Birss, Mrs Justice Sara Cockerill, Mr Justice Snowdon, Tom Christopherson, Bruce Harris and Stephen Fash[/p][p]We are walking with the Lord Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which funds Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London. and for the Rolls Building Art and Education Trust.[/p][p]The Rolls Building was opened by Her Majesty the Queen on 7th December 2011. It is the home of the new Business and Property Courts of England & Wales, which consist of the Chancery Division of the High Court, the Commercial Court, the Technology and Construction Court, the Circuit Commercial Court, and the Admiralty Court. The work of these courts includes the Business List (including the the Pensions sub-list and Financial Services and Regulatory sub-list), the Competition List, the Financial List, the Insolvency and Companies List, the Intellectual Property List (including the Patents Court and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court sub-lists), the Property, Trusts and Probate List, and the Revenue List. It is the largest specialist centre for the resolution of financial, business and property litigation in the world.[/p][p]The Rolls Building Art & Education Trust (RBAET) has been established to commission and deploy artistic and historical items to promote awareness of the law and the business-related justice system among young people, working with education organisations such as the National Justice Museum who already run activities for schools and colleges at the Royal Courts of Justice and the Supreme Court. The RBAET is grateful to the London Legal Support Trust for enabling 50% of the funds its team raises on the London Legal Walk to be put towards developing the educational programme recently piloted at the Rolls Building.[/p][p]The London Legal Support Trust funds Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London. We know that these agencies do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly and disabled and fighting exploitation.[/p][p]We also know how short they are of the funds to continue that work.[/p][p]Further information about the Trust’s educational and art activities can be found on its website www.rbaet.org.uk[/p][p]Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able[/p][p]Many thanks to our online sponsors below and to offline sponsors.[/p]
