My story

[p]This year I have decided to take on the challenge of the Great North Run to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF is a charity invested in research which aims to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes.[/p][p]When I was 17, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Initially, the diagnosis was a shock and the sudden adjustment to life with diabetes wasn't always straightforward. In particular, the ability to control my blood sugar levels and participate in sport was, and continues to be, a real challenge. Through running a half marathon, I want to show others with type 1 diabetes that the condition shouldn't hold you back from doing the things you enjoy, whilst raising money for JDRF.[/p][p]Over the course of this year I'm hoping to raise £1000 for JDRF. I'd really appreciate any donations you can spare, however big or small. Thanks for all of your support![/p][p]Ryan[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
