Team story

[p]Last year, a group of like minded people made a commitment to lead healthier lives, exercise more, think about what we eat and be more mindful. 18 months on, we're continuing this journey and are also joined by friends and colleagues to attempt the national 3 peaks challenge in 24 hours. It's only 3 mountains I hear you groan...agreed but we're aiming to scale the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours. With a minibus restricted to 62 mph and 10,000 of vertical climbing coming our way then luckily our feet are made for walking and our lungs made for busting. [/p][p]We've chosen the Movember Foundation as it was their sponsorship of the Move Like a Pro programme that brought us together. The patient coaching and mentoring from Northampton Saints has helped many of us make better choices. 12-weeks of talks, weigh-ins and man chat helped us reach our targets whether these were losing weight, learning what food labels actually mean or being more active. The physical changes were the obvious ones; it is the improvements in mental wellbeing that are more difficult to see although help in the significant and sustained changes to us all. [/p][p]The Northampton Saints Foundation do amazing work to help young people by offering them different life chances, new opportunities and engaging with the community. [/p][p]It's our pleasure to take your money to share with these two charities.[/p][p]Many of us still pump the iron in the Shape Up With the Saints classes and we've go our eye on Cobus Reinach's sprint time. Maybe next year's challenge...In the meantime, we've had our boots on for some practice and salads out to keep the kilos off.[/p]
