My story

[p]On the 23rd April 2017 I am running the London Marathon for the [b]North Wales Cancer Appeal[/b].[/p][p]This comes under the umbrella of the Awyr Las charity set up to improve healthcare in North Wales.[/p][p]I have been able to increase my running over the last few years and, as I am turning 50 this year, it seems a good time to tick off one or two of those 'bucket list challenges'. [/p][p]I am a GP in North Wales and see the benefits provided by this local service to our patients and more recently my colleagues. The latest radiotherapy treatment machine is now up and running at the North Wales Cancer Treament Centre. This is thanks largely to almost £1 million pounds donated by the NWCA fund towards the £1.4 million total cost.[/p][p]I have had help with my fund raising with a raffle, cheese and wine and a guess the time held from my surgery in Bangor.[/p][p]Well- finally the London Marathon day dawned. I am very pleased to say that I made it all the way. So glad to have the support of friends and family on the day and also the crowds that were lining the route and the marshals that helped it all happen. An amazing event especially as I did doubt at times that I would be running. Recovering quickly but determined to meet the target for such a worthwhile cause.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. [/p][p][span=margin: 0px; color: black;]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/span][/p][p][span=margin: 0px; color: black;][lt]br /[gt][/span][/p]
