My story

[p]During the first COVID-19 lockdown, whilst on my induction to start at the NHS Nightingale Hospital in London, I ran a marathon around the front of the Excel centre in hospital scrubs and face mask raising funds for NHS Charities Together. Each mile was dedicated to a different NHS worker.[/p][p]Unfortunately, during the second lockdown, due to a decline in my mental health, I had to seek assistance from both the NHS as well as the Armed Forces charity Help for Heroes.[/p][p]Now significantly improved, I am spending the third lockdown at the 2nd NHS Nightingale Hospital using my skills as a physiotherapist, to assist in the rehabilitation of patients due to the pandemic.[/p][p]Sadly on 2nd Feb 2021, the inspirational Army veteran Capt Sir Tom Moore passed away leaving the world to mourn the loss of a national treasure.[/p][p]In honour of Capt Sir Tom Moore I have therefore decided to run 100 laps of the Excel centre (100 miles) where the current London Nightingale Hospital is situated, in his memory. This will be done before or after my shift or on a day off.[/p][p]As a military veteran, National ambassador for Army Cadets and a current NHS worker, I will complete 50 laps wearing military uniform and the other 50 wearing hospital scrubs.[/p][p]Once again, I would like to dedicate each mile to an NHS worker but I would also like to thank a member of the Armed Forces during each mile as they too are keeping the country going at this time and deserve acknowledgement.[/p][p]This is where I need your help...[/p][p]Almost everyone knows someone who works in the NHS or Armed Forces so please help me share your gratitude for their sacrifices by making a donation and putting their name in the text so I can give them a shout out.[/p][p]Some of the laps will be running, others will be walking and some may even be crawling, but this challenge won't be done in one go, it's all about the little and often and getting as many people moving as possible, so please do join in (virtually of course!).[/p][p]All funds will be split equally between Help for Heroes and NHS Charities Together to help those who need their support.[/p][p]Thank you from the bottom of my heart.[/p][p]Lots of love,[/p][p]SallyXx[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
