My story

[p]Hi![/p][p] My name is Sam Williams, I am 40 years old from the South West of England and I am running (jogging!) The London Marathon 2019 for Children's Hospice South West. My aim is to raise at least £2000 for this fantastic charity, so, if you can spare any sponsorship at all, no matter how small, it will all help.[/p][p]My story is this: back in January 2018 I weighed in at nearly 28 stone... I haven't made a typing error there! I'm 6ft 3" tall and people were surprised when i said i was that heavy, it was embarrassing for me, but enough was enough and I decided that I had to do something about it, so, I put on some shorts a t- shirt and some trainers and made myself go to the local seafront where I live and try to start jogging. Now I cannot tell you how hard it was, and still is, but I made myself do it, for me, and for my family, and to be some kind of role model to them all. I started eating healthier as its not just about exercise I have learnt, its a lifestyle change, I actually feel so much better since starting this journey, it amazes me, and I actually love jogging, even though it hurts sometimes! [/p][p]Since starting back then I am now at 20 stone 4 lbs as of today, Friday 11th January 2019 so I have so far lost nearly 7 and half stone.[/p][p]I have completed a 5km race, The Great Bristol 10km, and I have completed The Great Bristol Half Marathon in September 2018, again, for this fantastic charity CHSW. It is all gearing me up towards my ultimate goal of completing The London Marathon in 2019, and I cannot thank CHSW enough for giving me the opportunity to do it. I will not let them down, and I will not let the children and families who have to use the hospice down either. [/p][p]My motivation to complete this and raise the money is massive. I want and intend to get to a weight of 19 stone 9lbs by the time the marathon comes around, which will be an 8 stone weight loss for me, if more, even better![/p][p]Just one more thing to add, I will be 40 years old when I do it next year, and the date, 28th April 2019, will be my wife and I 10th wedding anniversary! So that's going to be another thing that will keep me pushing along, it could be the most special day with that and me completing the marathon raising the money for CHSW, lets make it happen!!!!![/p][p]I am in training now for this, if you see me along the sea front give me a wave![/p][p][br][/p][p]Thank you for reading this, and if you can spare any amount of money towards the goal, thank you,[/p][p][br][/p][p]Sam[/p]
