My story

[p]George and Thomas are really missing our regular visits to the Wild Place Project to see all their favourite animals. Both Bristol Zoo Gardens and Wild Place have been closed for well over two months and have suffered a severe loss of income. For each month they remain closed they are losing approximately £800,000. The longer they remain closed to the public, the greater the challenges they will face returning to full capacity in the future. Unlike most businesses they have a living collection of animals to continue to care for and all of the costs associated with that. They cannot furlough all of the staff and must also ensure that our sites are secure and maintained. [/p][p]Bristol Zoological Society is a charitable zoo with its mission of ‘Saving Wildlife Together’ through their education and conservation work. So not only does the prolonged closure mean they continue to lose valuable income, it also severely limits the work they must deliver. [/p]
