My story

[p]UPDATE 15/09/13[/p][p]Lucky number 13 in the bag! PBs for both of us (1:35:02 Sean and 1:57:41 Louise), although Louise doesn't quite know where her's came from! The wind and rain may've spurred us on a little to get back, but your support behind us certainly did. Thank you to every one of our sponsors. You made a difference to both us and famillies with very sick children.[/p][p]We'll be accepting donations here for a while yet, so please donate if you're reading this and haven't already. Any amount is gratefully received.[/p][p]Thanks again everyone. xxx[/p][p][/p][p]Hi!  Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.[/p][p]We can’t quite believe it, but Sunday 15[sup]th[/sup] September 2013 is going to be our 13th Great North Run and this time we’re raising money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity[/p][p]Rainbow Trust offers help and support to families who have a child who either has a life threatening illness or is terminally ill. When families learn their child is seriously ill, their lives are turned upside down. Rainbow Trust provides both practical help and emotional support. They help with everyday chores like shopping, cooking or ironing. They do craft activities, read or talk with the sick child about their worries, their illness and treatment. They give brothers and sisters time to talk, play or just go out somewhere and have some fun. They help transport children to and from school and help with homework. They help organise appointments, transport to those appointments, collect medications, look after the sick child or the siblings and liaise with medical staff. They also provide bereavement support for as long as a family needs it. [/p][p]Rainbow Trust provides an extra pair of hands, or a place where parents can relax and the ill child, and their siblings, can meet other youngsters facing similar challenges.[/p][p]So they are why we’ll be running the world's largest 13.1 mile (21km) half marathon together with a record 58,000 entrants this year. Please help us make a difference to very sick children and their families. Any donation is gratefully received.[/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is 100% not for profit.  Your donations will be quickly processed and passed to the Rainbow Trust and any gift aid will be claimed on the charity's behalf where eligible (if you’re a tax payer that means another 25% goes to the Charity).[/p][p]Thank you for your support.[/p][p]Sean and Louise x[/p][p][/p]
