My story

[p] My Story, [/p][p] My last six months has been an incredible journey that I thought I would never be able to complete, but I have. Like anything I took a good hard look at myself, decided I did not like what I was seeing in the mirror, a 20st 9lb overweight man that just felt sorry for himself, using food to comfort him and going out running just to get away from all the stress of life. So, all I was doing by running was maintaining the weight I had and not losing it, as I was always putting the calories back into my body.[/p][p] A photo changed that, along with seeing a friend that had changed his lifestyle by joining a slimming club.[/p][p] So, I needed to do something about it.[/p][p] May 2018 my life changed, I had an event booked for the July that I was going to meet an ‘A’ list celebrity and as this was a legend, Hollywood icon I had watched most of my life, I wanted to look my best as I was paying to have a photo taken with him, so seeing my friend and this picture that was taken of me I decided to take action by joining Slimming world hopefully not being put off by the ‘it’s a diet thing’ and not stick to it, thinking all you can eat is salad and fruit and have none of the bad stuff.[/p][p] Three months of being a slimming world member and staying to group listening and taking in all that the consultant and the group members experience I had almost lost 4 stone and I felt amazing going to this event in a tux and looking good, I was starting feel happy in myself and seeing amazing difference in the mirror, my God! clothes were just falling off. But that was not the end as during this journey I was also running and getting better as the weight was falling off, and I always had plans to do a Marathon and no better then the London Marathon which I had watched year after year my brother complete and wanted to prove to myself I can do that.[/p][p] Which the time has come through applying for a ballot place twice and being rejected, and a charity place saying no, I finally got a call on a Friday afternoon offering me a place with their team.[/p][p] This is where my next journey begins training & fundraising for the 2019 London Marathon, hopefully with my Family & friends support you will be able to find some spare change and be able to sponsor me on this epic journey I will be taking. Which I would love for as many to be there at the finish line or supporting along the route, and believe me at the end it will be a feast I’m looking forward too.[/p][p]Almost 6 months from joining Slimming world I have nearly lost over 6 stone, now at 15st plus and still losing weight.[/p][p] The Charity I will be running for is Make A Wish UK. Being a Father myself and seeing the dreams that Make A Wish UK have helped come true, I hope that if one day I or anyone I knew was in that situation that needed help, I would be able to approach Make A wish UK and ask for their assistance.[/p][p] “Whether it's starring in their own films, walking with dinosaurs, going on an amazing holiday, meeting a celebrity hero, or having a bedroom makeover; our wishes are varied, personal and life-changing. We go above and beyond to grant amazing wishes to very amazing children; their One True Wish made a reality at a time when they need it most. Because a child's life shouldn't be about illness, hospitals and diagnosis - it should be about wonder, joy and hope.” Make A Wish UK.[/p][p] [/p]
