My story

[p]Dear all, [/p][p]Thank you so much for contributing and so wonderfully supportive. [/p][p]Unfortunately due to COVID Restrictions this challenge was postponed. France remains amber and therefore we are now cycling from Plymouth to Bude day 1, Bude to Newquay day 2 and Newquay to Lands End day 3. [/p][p]We weren't expecting the Cornish hills when we initially signed up to this challenge and Sarah and Emma are now sadly unable to join us but we're still very much looking forward to it!! [/p][p]Rachel and Harj[/p][p]Hello! Welcome to our fundraising team... Sarah, Harj, Emma, Rachel and of course yoU....team SHERU, meaning Lion in Punjabi. We are a pride of 4 lionesses, taking on the RCHT London to Paris Cycle Challenge 2021 and raising money to do it by creating events to keep you active during lockdown![/p][p]A brief intro to our totally ROARsome team......[/p][p]We are 4 doctors, who all met working at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, and decided to sign up to the hospital charity London to Paris cycle challenge 2020 to help raise money for causes that are important to each of us in our roles within the Hospitals Trust. [/p][p]Sarah Benjamin, a GP trainee who already cycles far too much, will be leading the Pride on this ride. She is raising money for the West Cornwall Memory Café, who run a number of initiatives to improve care for patients with dementia and memory loss.[/p][p]Harjeet Sahota, an Elder Care Registrar, is new to long distance cycling, however she has been known to achieve queen of the mountain up Porthtowan hill (after a full veggie English!). She is raising money for the Elder Care department at Treliske.[/p][p]Emma Keohane, an Emergency Department Registrar, the most flexible member of the group, is raising money for the Emergency Department at Treliske, and is hoping to avoid non-work related attendance at her own department as a result of forgetting she's clipped in (again!).[/p][p]Rachel Chiumento, a Paediatric Intensive Care Registrar, adds an Italian flair to the mix. She recently started competing in triathlons and frequently cycles to work in the dark and the rain. She currently works in Liverpool, but has strong connections with the paediatric team at RCHT and so will be raising money for their department.[/p][p]And finally, but most importantly.... yoU! We don't simply want you to click and donate (but we won't discourage this either!) we want to get you active and involved in our challenge adventure. [/p][p][br][/p]
