My story

[p]What am I doing here! I’m nearly 61 and I’m running the London Marathon for the first time! I must be mad![/p][p]But there we go, who would have thought that my attempt to get fit and lose weight that I started on 01.01.2016. would end up here, but I’m glad it has. Not only will completing the marathon be the pinnacle of my short running career but to support such a worthwhile charity gives me the impetus to carry on running down those dark and lonely lanes in Anglesey in the cold and wind of a Wintery January! [/p][p]I do hope you will help me reach my target and make me cross that finishing line knowing that you have supported me. My nephew in law Sid Paul has persuaded me to take up the challenge and whilst we may start together the next time I’ll see him is when I cross the finishing line an hour behind him, but that’s the advantage he has of 20 years and a few stone over me. It’s his idea to support Sporting Equals, a charity close to his heart and I am happy to do my little bit to help so thank you in advance for helping and if anyone wants to be there at the finish line to cheer me in holding my Blizzard Blanket ready to wrap me in, you are most welcome ( just don’t get there early though, I may be a while..........)![/p]
