My story

[p]Hello everyone, [/p][p]I've always liked running, so last year I joined a local running club (Somer AC) which has really motivated me. This year, I decided to set myself a personal challenge.  On Sunday 24th September I will be running the first of two marathons when I take part in the 2017 Hull Marathon.  Then, after two weeks of luxurious rest, I will be taking part in the Chester Marathon, on Sunday 8th October.  Two marathons in two weeks. No pressure then![/p][p]As part of this I would also like to raise as much sponsorship as I can for a special charity.  [/p][p]I will be running in memory of Joel Prince.[/p][p]Joel (the son of a friend) was just two years old when he was diagnosed with a very rare, fast growing, agressive, malignant tumour.  After an amazing life saving operation the tumour was removed.  Joel underwent intensive chemotherapy and radiotheraphy.  After complications he started to recover and was doing really well. He had worked so hard to regain some of the movement in his lower body and had started to crawl again, as well as standing and taking a few steps.  Then in January 2015 an MRI scan revealed two more tumours had grown on his spine. Sadly, Joel lost his battle, and past away just six months after being diagnosed.  Joel's family have set up a fund in Joel's name via Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group to raise money to support research and clinical trials for spinal AT/RTS.  So, please if you can help me to raise money for this amazing and worthwhile cause I would really appreciate it.  [/p][p]Thank you[/p][p]Simon :)[/p][p](Through VIrgin Money you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities.  Virgin Money giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on the charities behalf where the donor is eligible for this.  Thank you for any donations)[/p][p] [/p][p] [/p]
