My story

[p]I am attempting to row 3,000 miles solo across the Atlantic Ocean to support Team Felix, which is a partner fund of Duchenne UK. I have seen first-hand the devastation this condition causes to the kids and their families who suffer with Duchenne, with a personal friend’s son Felix being diagnosed in 2013.[/p][p]I have also seen first-hand the incredible strength, courage and determination that these kids and their families show in the face of a currently incurable disease.[/p][p]I believe there are tipping points with many things in life, be it the success of a business, attitudes in society, and I think the same can be said for a cause like this. [/p][p]With the right backing comes the opportunity to find a cure for Duchenne, and the tipping point could be just around the corner. Please help us find a cure and to [b]END DUCHENNE[/b].[/p][p]Two families a week in the UK are told that their child has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a devastating muscle wasting disease that mainly affects boys.[/p][p]DMD is a desperately cruel disease. It's the most common genetic killer of children worldwide. Children will be totally paralysed by their teens and many won't live beyond their 20s. [/p][p]There is no treatment or cure. But thanks to recent breakthroughs, and with your help, we believe we can save them.[/p][p]Duchenne UK are an ambitious and highly focused charity, investing millions of pounds in research right now to bring treatments and a cure and to help this generation.[/p][p]Please help us to END DUCHENNE.[/p][p][br][/p]
