My story

[p]October 2019 update[/p][p]It was hot, brutal, sandy and unexpectedly hilly but I did it! 2 marathons in the Sahara, a lot of sand, very little sleep, a lot of laughter, a few tears and a fantastic bunch of fellow runners! Target is £10k so I can't stop running yet. Currently looking into next adventure and races so watch this space![/p][p]Thanks so much to everyone who has sponsored me so far. Page still open if you are able to sponsor me. [/p][p]Many thanks[/p][p]Sophie x [/p][p][br][/p][p]Over the next few months I am going to be doing a lot of running for good causes, and I hope you might be able to support me - and two great charities.[/p][p]In October I am heading off to the Sahara to run two marathons in two days! The training is well under way, and to help prepare for the challenge I will be taking part in two UK marathons in April and August, and then my first Ultra in September. [/p][p]I'm not having a mid-life crisis but am doing this to raise money for two charities which are close to my heart. They are the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher, Surrey, and Breast Cancer Now. These are daunting challenges, but I will be running in memory of my dear friend Charlotte Coleman-Smith. [/p][p]Breast Cancer Now is the UK's largest breast cancer research charity dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease. [/p][p]Princess Alice Hospice provides support and care for those with life-limiting illnesses. They help patients, carers and family members in the home, in the community and in the hospice. [/p][p]The Hospice relies on fundraising to generate the majority of the funds they need to provide this wonderful care, which I have seen for myself. [/p][p]I am funding all the costs associated with the races and the trip to the Sahara so your sponsorship will go directly to the charities to help fund their vital work. [/p][p]Thank you so much for your support.[/p][p]Sophie x[/p][p]https://www.surreycomet.co.uk/news/17807079.thames-ditton-39-s-sophie-rees-run-sahara-ultramarathon-princess-alice-hospice/[/p][p][br][/p][p] [/p][p] [/p]
