Team story

[p]The challenge[/p][p]On 28th September, eight rowers from St Andrew Boat Club (SABC) will attempt to row 21 miles along the length of Loch Ness. Our team is prepared to face high winds, waves, blisters, sores… And of course the wrath of Nessie herself![/p][p]www.monstertheloch.com[/p][p] [/p][p]Why are we doing this?[/p][p]We are fundraising in aid of two charities, with donations split evenly between the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH) and St Andrew Boat Club.[/p][p]SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity, providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education across the country.[/p][p]SABC is Scotland’s oldest open amateur rowing club, and we offer rowing opportunities to people of all ages and abilities in the community. Donations will support the ongoing development of our equipment and facilities to enable us to deliver in our mission of ‘Rowing for All’.[/p][p] [/p][p]To learn more about our nominated charities, please visit:[/p][p]https://www.samh.org.uk/[/p][p]http://standrewboatclub.com/[/p][p] [/p][p]What if the event is cancelled? [/p][p]There is a small chance that unpredictable weather conditions mean it is not safe to complete the event on Loch Ness. If this happens, we pledge that we will row the equivalent distance on a body of water as soon as is possible – and provide photographic evidence![/p][p] [/p][p]Thank you for your support.[/p]
