My story

[p]How much do you know or even care about Parkinsons disease ? Like many of you - you will only feel or know what you have been through and what I mean is if you know someone who has suffered or is suffering with cancer than you know the effects of this disease and its close to your heart - the same as someone with alzheimers or dementia - if you know someone or have a relative suffering you know the trauma it causes and the heartache - well Parkinsons is no different to any or all of the above diseases- it's close to my heart as my mother has had this diagnosis for 15 years and I still daily wonder what's next......when will she lose her full mobility ...So yes I am begging and I am asking for anyone that has read this far ( you deserve a medal for reading my ramblings) for a SMALL donation - I'm not asking for £5 or even a £1 just £0.50p and maybe you can donate £0.50p to a charity that's close to your heart at the same time? I have never ran further than 10k - thats just over 6miles - the Heineken challenge is bloody 10 of those .... I struggle I really do to run a 10k comfortably so to put myself forward to do something ten times over will be a challenge physically and mentally for me. I'm not here to be the fastest - I literally want to get to the end and make my mother proud. I want to do it for her and see her face at the finish line. The money I raise isnt going in my pocket- it's not even going directly to my mum and theres very little chance my mother will be alive to see any cure or further medical advances in the development of combating this disease but come on how else will money be raised for scientists to do their thing ? So yes I am ending on begging you for a donation and in return I promise to get through it with a smile on my face.......come on you know you want too [/p][p]Every hour, two people in the UK are told they have Parkinson's - a brain condition that turns lives upside down, leaving a future full of uncertainty. Parkinson's UK are there to make sure people have whatever they need to take back control - from information to inspiration.[/p][p]Parkinson's UK want everyone to get the best health and social care. They bring professionals together to drive improvements that enable people to live life to the full.[/p][p]Ultimately, they want to end Parkinson's. They inspire and support the international research community to develop life-changing treatments, faster. And they won't stop until they find a cure.[/p][p]Parkinson's UK's work totally depends on the money their supporters raise and donate. It's only with our help that they can find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's. Together we can bring forward the day when no one fears Parkinson's.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me, and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Parkinson's UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to read my page. Please donate to this fantastic cause! I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]

Well done! My grandad has Parkinson’s and seeing someone you love go through the struggles and challenges it brings is truly heartbreaking. Thank you for raising awareness of this awful disease
