My story
[p]ANOTHER UPDATE!!! So the apocalypse happened and my Royal Parks half has been postponed, and its now the week before I complete to Brighton marathon in April 2021. I have recovered from my sprained ankle and I am ready to get my trainers back on and get training for my beloved farm. Lockdown was hard for the farm, no visitors means a lot less donations! So I am determined to reach my £1000 target in time for Brighton. Thank you to everyone who has already sponsored me x[/p][p][br][/p][p]ONE MORE UPDATE!! Alpaca laps now was amazing!! The boys were so good, and I did a 26.2 mile cycle home afterwards too. Now, because I cant seem to stop myself doing crazy things I have just signed up to run 26.2 miles!! I will complete the Brighton Marathon in 2021 for the 3rd time, and then I will say I am going to hang up my trainers....but I probably wont! x[/p][p]ANOTHER UPDATE! the lovely farm people seem to embrace my crazy ideas, and are letting me do the most amazing 2.6 challenge this Sunday (26th April) involving 3 alpacas and 26 laps of the arena! ALPACA LAPS NOW! [/p][p]I am still going to compete my landmarks challenge after that, but instead of running I am going to cycle 26.2 after a day at the farm.....km or miles I haven’t quite figured it out yet.[/p][p]After this i still have my postponed Hackney Half, Vitality 10k, Royal Paris Half and Tough Mudder to complete all for the magical place that is Vauxhall City Farm![/p][p]UPDATE! I completed the Big Half and then the apocalypse happened 😢 so my other 2 half marathons and the tough mudder have been delayed until later in the year. I signed up the the London landmarks local half which is a little 2.6 mile solo, socially distanced run on the 26th of April....and I can’t quite shake the feeling I have another full marathon in me before pretend I’m going to hang up my trainers 😊[/p][p]the farm needs support more than ever right now, with 80% of its donations gone overnight, so I will keep running for them and my love Jerry![/p][p][br][/p][p]I know I said I would stop asking for everyone for their hard earned money, but that was before I met and fell in love with Jerry, Ben, Tom and all the other animals at Vauxhall City Farm. It’s a hidden gem in the centre of London. I was lucky to grow up in the Scottish countryside surrounded by animals, the farm gives city children (and grown ups) the chance to learn about animals and experience their magic powers. Check out their website to see some of the great things they do for the community. Since I reached my target for my last few half marathons early, I’m dedicating my my next two (and any more I sign up for along the way) to the farm....they always say thank you to us volunteers for helping them, but this way I can say thank you to them for meeting me spend my sundays there, it’s genuinely made such a huge difference to my wellbeing, that is the magic power of alpacas 😊[/p][p]UPDATE!!!! I am now also running the Royal Parks Half and doing a tough mudder!! The alpacas and the goats lost the roof of their stables in the recent storms so I really want to do more to help raise some money for the farm...….and getting covered in mud and running a few more miles sounds fun![/p]
