My story

[p]Dear friends,[/p][p]On 29 and 30 June, I and some fellow Rockspringers will be walking, running or cycling the South Downs Way (100 miles +) for the wonderful charities listed on this page. Particularly close to my heart is Macmillan Cancer Support - the photo shows my late mother (1947-2011) who lost her fight with, firstly, breast cancer and then a brain tumour. Macmillan Nurses helped support her and us through the last, awful days and I cannot praise what they do highly enough. My mother and daughter Poppy are having fun, improvising with hospital facilities. Sadly, my mother never met my son Jack.[/p][p]For my part, I'm cycling the 100 miles over two days. For those who know me well, I may have some miles in my legs but mountain biking is a huge learning curve for me and the route we're taking is up and down (and on my part, probably all over the place). I've got the ball well and truly rolling but any donations you can make to help me reach my target for all three charities will be very gratefully received.[/p][p]Yours,[/p][p]Stafford[/p][p] [/p][p] [/p][p] [/p][p] [/p]
