My story

[p]Harris & Trotter[/p][p]This page is for friends and family of Stephen Lunn who are raising money for the Harris & Trotter Charitable Trust. We will be raising money through a number of events and will keep this page updated with info on every friend or family doing something for this great cause. We have a big target but collectively we can definitely do it! [/p][p]The H&T charitable trust has a fund for specifically helping patients obtain treatment where the NHS will not provide the treatment (normally because of budgetary constraints) but a patient’s doctor believes that the treatment will be beneficial.[/p][p]Whilst the H&T fund is there to help fund treatment for those that need it today, sustaining it's future of helping families like ours tomorrow is completely dependant on charitable donations. The charity is quite amazing and your donations will go directly towards treatment to cure or sustain life for people like our father.[/p][p]Stephen Lunn [/p][p]In late 2015, our beloved father was diagnosed with stage 4 oesophageal cancer and given between 10-12 months to live. As a family, this was devastating news but, determined that this wasn't the final word, we set about finding other solutions...[/p][p]Dad has been through an initial round of chemotherapy, an immunotherapy trial (which proved very effective) and is now on a further chemotherapy based trial. Whilst Dad responds well to chemotherapy it does have a limited timeframe as a result of the drugs effectiveness and ones ability to tolerate it.[/p][p]We are now looking at the next phase of treatment for dad, which we expect will be immunotherapy based. We have been incredibly lucky to find the Harris and Trotter Charitable Trust, who have agreed to fund the next treatment for Dad. In return for funding the treatment we are trying to raise money for the fund so that they can continue to help families like ours.[/p][p]Whilst cancer can never be positive it has highlighted the value of time and how important it is to spend with those that you love. We therefore ask you to help us provide time for someone else who will need the help of Harris & Trotter in the future. Every donation is greatly appreciated! [/p]
