My story

[p]In 2019, I’ll be running the London Marathon for Pancreatic Cancer UK. [/p][p]I’ve been inspired to do this because an ex-teacher, role model, gentlemen and a good friend has recently been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. [/p][p]He’s been a part of my life for 15 years; from keeping me in check throughout my time at Mount Grace to never being able to beat me and Tom Massey at golf to this day.[/p][p]Of course, being diagnosed with cancer is an horrific ordeal on all accounts, but he’s certainly been through worse having to spend 3-4years in an office with the loudest welshmen I know, Tomlinson. [/p][p]Mr Roberts has certainly had a positive influence on many lives in the local area. Personally, he guided me through school and helped me achieve the grades I needed to move on with my career. I was a stickler for going to school and not doing any work, I wasn't interested. I'll forever be in debt to Robbo for the support and guidance he gave me. [/p][p]School finished and a group of us remained in close contact with Robbo, we played golf nearly every other weekend, watched rugby at Twickenham and had a good crack on a night out. We all became close friends. [/p][p] To find out Robbo had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer was a real kick in the teeth and I, along with many others are absolutely devastated. [/p][p]One thing I have learnt from being involved with this charity is that it simply does not get the funding it deserves to be able to treat patients quicker t enable them to save more lives. [/p][p]Any donation will be whole heartedly appreciated and will only add to Robbo's determination to beat cancer. [/p][p]We wish you all the best Robbo. [/p][p]#TeamRobbo [/p][p]Fundraising Updates:[/p][p]10/11/2018 - Charity Quiz Night - Raising a massive £3,811. Thank you to everyone that attended. (This money has been split between Danny Fidlers page who also ran a Half Marathon in aid of Robbo)[/p][p]I would like to say a huge thank you to all my friends at Barnet Hospital who have helped raise £84 with a very simple game of 'Guessing the sweets in the Jar' at £1 a go!!! Thank you to Danielle Collier for organising. [/p][p]Raybrook Riding (Geoffrey) has managed to raise nearly £200 by having a collection pot at the riding school. (thank you! [/p][p][br][/p][p]Cash donations from; [/p][p]Nan - £30 [/p][p]Eamon Dempsey - £20 [/p][p]Berni Plows - £20[/p][p]Lisa Rose - £20 [/p][p]Ruth Ouzia - £10 [/p][p]Thank you! [/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
