My story

[p]In 2012 I was awarded a scholarship to learn to fly with the charity Flying Scholarships for Disabled People (FSDP). The whole experience changed my life for the better and restored my faith in humanity. Disability had left me unemployable at the age of 18 due to a motorcycle accident that had ripped my right arm off, out of its socket and disability discrimination had taken its toll on me.[/p][p]I was officially awarded my scholarship by Prince Faisal of Jordan (The Royal Patron of FSDP) at the Royal International Air Tattoo. After the whole flying experience my drive and passion was restored and I started living my life again. I'm now a qualified private pilot.[/p][p]A fear of mine, that I wanted to deal with, other than flying, was my fear of horses. I decided I would face the challenge head on and take horse riding lessons. In July 2019 I came 3rd in the national dressage qualifiers at Hartpury College.[/p][p]I have decided I want to help FSDP by doing a fund raising drive to enable a disabled person to be awarded a flying scholarship and to help rebuild their life as mine was. My target is £10,000. That would be the cost of a three week residential flight training course for a disabled person, an opportunity to change someones life forever. [/p][p]I intend to horse ride through the Jordanian desert of Wadi Rum, it seems befitting as the charity patron is Prince Faisal of Jordan. Its going to be tough riding the distances involved and with one arm using my own homemade horse riding adaptions but hopefully it will prove to everyone that "Anything Is Possible" and help someone in need.[/p]
