My story

[p]HELLO![/p][p]I’ve been lucky enough to secure a place in next years, VirginMoney London Marathon and will not only be representing my running club (Knowle & Dorridge) but will also be running to raise money for Queen Alexandra College (QAC), where I work as part of the Maintenance Team.[/p][p]I’ve been involved in a variety of different running clubs over the years but currently run with K&D. Many of my team mates have been competing in marathons over the years so I thought it was about time it was my turn again![/p][p]My mission is to cross the finish line in under 3 hours, something I’ve not managed to achieve in the past 5 marathons I've done. I’ve even persuaded one of my team mates to coach me to give me more of a chance of doing it. The other target I'm setting myself is to reach £1000 in fundraising and sponsorship. [/p][p]It has been a while since I’ve competed in a marathon but I am very excited to take on the challenge to represent my club and to raise money for QAC. The money raised will really make a difference to the students the college works with, and will go directly to one of the charities fundraising projects. The students at QAC are amazing, always trying their hardest to achieve despite the obstacles they have to face - so this is my way of supporting and encouraging them. [/p][p]Any sponsorship you can offer will be greatly appreciated and will make the pain, and blisters more worthwhile![/p][p][br][/p][p]UPDATE: [/p][p]With ten weeks to go until race day, training has been going well. I've battled storms and blisters so far but am pleased with my progress so far!
