My story

[p] I have decided to take on the challenge of running the London Marathon to help raise money for the ectopic pregnancy trust, a charity very close to my heart. [/p][p] Just over ten years ago we lost our first child to an ectopic pregnancy, it was traumatic experience that for years I struggled to come to terms with, but refused tell anyone or ask for help. I wish I had turned to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust for the help and support I needed at the time. I hope that by raising funds and awareness for this charity I can help other families to deal with the trauma and their loss. [/p][p]I have always enjoyed running but up until about two years ago a few miles would be my limit!! Two years on and three half marathons later. I’m now training for a full marathon, running 26.2 miles!! knowing it’s for such a good cause makes it all worth while. [/p][p]If you would like to donate to help me reach my target and support me with my fund raising for this charity, it would be greatly appreciated. [/p][p]Here is a short description of the charity and the work they do. [/p][p]The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust [/p][p]Ectopic pregnancy affects 1 in 80 pregnancies in the UK and women who suffer have to face the physical trauma of major invasive treatment, their own mortality, the impact on their future fertility and the sad loss of losing their baby all very quickly. This can be a very frightening and distressing experience.[/p][p]The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust believes that the deaths and trauma associated with ectopic pregnancy should be prevented or minimised and seeks to support women and their families through this difficult period of their lives. The Charity also provides Information, Education and Support to medical professionals who treat early pregnancy complications. [/p][p]Thank you very much xx [/p]
