Team story

[p]South West Communications Group directors Sarah Flowers and Brian Lodge and their respective partners Kevin and Nina are heading off to the far ends of the earth on Friday 28 September to trek to Everest base camp and then up to the nearby  peak of Kala Patar .                       [/p][p]They depart on Friday 28 September as part of a 9 person team that includes an injured marine and their own doctor. First stop will be Kathmandu, then onward to the small airport of Lukla at 9200 feet, which is renowned for being one of the most dangerous in the world, before the trek via Namchee Bazaar up to Everest Base Camp and on to the ridge of Kala Pattar at 18192 feet under the shadow of Mount Everest. [/p][p]It will be a spectacular challenge for all concerned testing the limitations of the team’s abilities with high altitude treks of up to 8 hours a day in the thinning atmosphere. Oxygen levels will drop to 50% of the norm with temperatures not far behind. Electricity will  become scarce to non existent the higher they climb and there is very limited water so creature comforts will be few and far between in the final days of accent.[/p][p]What will comfort everyone of course will be the thought that this trip will raise funds for the Exeter Foundation and your sponsorship will be greatly appreciated with all donations going direct to a great  charity.[/p][p]Please give what you can [/p][p]Many thanks, Sarah, Nina, Brian and Kevin[/p]
