Team story

[p]You've heard of 'Three Men in a Boat'? Well, we were Four Men in Two Canadian Canoes and WE DID IT, we successfully completed the Kidasha Wye 100 Canoe Challenge at the beginning of May. [/p][p][img][/img][/p][p]This means (as total novices) we canoed 100 miles along the Wye Valley as part of a 16-strong team to raise £30,000 for Kidasha and the whole team truly 'smashed it' - with the money raised from all of you lovely people currently standing at just over £35,000! [/p][p]Kidasha is a dynamic and innovative charity working to improve the lives of children living in crisis situations in Nepal – victims of trafficking and abuse, children living in slums on the streets or forced to work as child labourers in exploitative situations.[/p][p]Kidasha supports over 3,000 of these children every year with a variety of services including protective shelter; numeracy, literacy and life-skills courses; counselling and health education. For more information about kidasha's work please go to www.kidasha.org[/p][p]Demand for Kidasha’s work continues to increase as extreme poverty drives more and more of the poorest families into crisis – so whilst you may not want to paddle 100 miles in a canoe (let's face it, who really does?!) you can help by sponsoring us. Your support will encourage us to complete the challenge but, more importantly, will help Kidasha to sustain its essential work in Nepal.[/p][p]A huge and heartfelt thank you for your support - it's been fantastic.[/p][p]Rob, Jon, Tom and Dom[/p]

Well, I couldn't bear the target to only be 99% reached! You did brilliantly and I understand the combined paddling & walking teams have raised just under £57k, with a few more promised donations to come. AWESOME. Jane x
