My story

[p]The Nathan Christopher Foundation was created in 2015 by Becky Lund, who is a very loyal and hardworking member of my team at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, in honour of her brother, Nathan. [/p][p]Nathan became ill at the age of 22 after suffering multiple blood clots on the brain and a subsequent stroke. After spending five months in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, Nathan was able to go home. He faced being permanently in a wheelchair and the flat which he shared with his girlfriend was now inaccessible. Not only did his life completely turn upside down, but he had suffered complete memory loss as a result of the trauma to his brain and he was no longer able to work in a profession he had worked so hard to be part of.[/p][p]The costs associated with suddenly becoming disabled are not those that any of us budget for. The cost of self-propelled wheelchairs can be as much as £4,000 and of course this is not a one-off purchase. The charity therefore works to provide grants to disabled individuals in East Anglia in order to assist with the often overlooked financial costs associated with disability and the vital equipment that is needed.[/p][p]https://thenathanchristoph.wixsite.com/thencf[/p][p][br][/p]
