Team story

[p]This year 17 riders will cover a 300 mile route which will take us from Oslo to Stavanger on 29th July to 3rd August. [/p][p]This particular leg of our annual tour should have been completed last year, however as you know my wife Deborah was very ill during 2018 and sadly passed away on January 2nd this year. It’s been an extremely difficult time for our family but one which has made me even more determined than ever to complete this year’s challenge in Deborah’s memory. [/p][p]Debs and I had a wonderful life together along with our daughters Rebecca and Lucy. She always encouraged me to keep this cycle journey going since we first started on the first leg of the tour in 2007. She had hoped to be able to join us on our final challenge in 2021 when we will cycle from Morpeth to London, this year she will most certainly be our strength and inspiration to complete the ride through Norway. [/p][p]Our team will support three charities which are extremely close to our hearts this year; Action Against Cancer, St Luke’s Hospice and The Dransfield Foundation. [/p][p]There are only three rides remaining before we complete the challenge, in 2020 we will cross the water to the UK and cycle from Aberdeen to Morpeth and our final leg in 2021 will take us from Morpeth to London, where the tour began 12 years ago in 2007. [/p][p]Since we started the challenge from London to Paris we have cycled through eleven countries, we have been joined by 160 riders on one or more legs of the tour and raised almost £500,000 in support of our chosen charities. [/p][p]Each member of the team covers the cost of their trip, ensuring that the money we raise is delivered to frontline resources where it can make a real difference to people’s lives.[/p][p]All donations will be equally spilt between the three charities.[/p][p]We appreciate your support and encouragement so please dig deep and follow us on Twitter @TeamDransfield and “like” us on Facebook, or if you are useless at I.T just keep up to date via our website! [/p][p]Thank you[/p][p]Team Dransfield 2019[/p][p] [/p][p] [/p]
