Team story

[p]29th December 2014....[/p][p]26th February 2016....[/p][p]14th June 2018....[/p][p]3 dates that changed the world for 1000’s of people.[/p][p]29th December 2014 was the day that Charlotte, my fiancée, devastatingly lost her 15 year old brother after he decided to experiment with drugs. Between Christmas and New Year. Charlotte didn't sleep well that night and that was before she found out. A kind of intuition that something wasn’t right. I remember having a day off work, getting a call from one of the team in the office saying I needed come in as Charlotte was on the floor in bits as Josh had died. ****! The first hug after rushing to the office is something I will never forget. Watching Charlotte and her family battle the loss has been heartbreaking to watch. [/p][p]26th February 2016 was the day I lost Chris, my best friend. I remember waking up on the sofa at 2am one morning to see a Facebook post with RIP Quenby which took me to my knees. Wondering what happened only to find he took his own life. I had known Chris since I was 11 years old, a best friend i inspired to be. We might not see each other for a while sometimes but when we did, it was like family. I took this time for granted. Still to this date, I wish I could have spent more time with him, helped him and been an ear to listen to.[/p][p]14th June 2018 was the night Charlotte, her brother Alex and myself found Penny, Charlottes mum, after breaking into her flat due to her not turning up to work. She had taken her own life. Finding her and watching the devastating, heart wrenching faces appear on Charlotte and Alex ripped through their souls was heartbreaking to see. The second, life changing blow of loss in their family. We slept on a sofa for a month due to the shock of that night.[/p][p]Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained.[/p][p]The losses we experience, all of us, whatever the situation changes us forever. It’s not getting over grief just managing to deal with it in a different way. I have watched Charlotte battle this for years.[/p][p]Were not just running it for Child Bereavement, Mental Health Foundation and CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserable) in memory of Josh, Chris and Penny. I am running it for all of you who has been affected by their loss and the loss of losing someone to suicide or losing their child. [/p][p]We're also running it for a more local initiative close to Liz’s heart, the Pilgrims Hospice who cared for her mum toward the end of her life. Liz has raised money in the past including a Fire Walk.[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
