Team story

[p][/p][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]===============[/div][p] [span=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Thank you for visiting Alan and Martin Jones' fundraising page. We are running the 2017 London marathon to raise money for Mind, the Mental Health Charity. [/span][/p][p][span=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]From our own experience, our mum suffered from several episodes of bipolar disorder following the death our dad in 1994. It was a condition we did not know anything about at the time and had we had access to the advice and resource provided by Mind we would have been better equipped to deal with the circumstances. The work that they do is very important and that's the reason we're supporting this worthy cause.[/span][lt]br style="font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;" /[gt][/p] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Alan's Bit:[/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;] [/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;] I ran a marathon in 2015 but I had got a bit smashed up in a game of rugby 6 weeks before (3 bulging discs!) so was grateful to just get around in one piece. I'd like to have a go at it again to see what I could do with a bit better preparation. If we can raise some money towards a very good cause along the way that would be great. It doesn't matter how much you can spare, even if it's a pound and a message of good luck or any more than that I'd be really grateful for the support.[/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;][span=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]It's an amazing statistic that 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year.  It's a cause that deserves support and I'm looking forward to running and raising money on behalf of Mind.[/span][/div][div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;][span=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;][lt]br /[gt][/span][/div] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Martin’s Bit:[/div] [div=font-family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px;]Having seen the effects of mental illness up close, I know how important it is for charities like Mind to provide support and information about mental health matters as it can be a confusing and distressing time for everyone involved. If you can spare any amount, no matter how small, I would be extremely grateful and I know it will go towards helping people going through a very tough time.[/div][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
