Team story

[p]Thanks for visiting our Team Fundraising Page. Team NoSleep are a group of ladies who enjoy Xbox Gaming and Crafting. This is our 3rd year of doing a 24 hour marathon-style challenge to raise much needed funds for charities close to our hearts. So let's meet the team...[/p][p]Abi - The Task Master[/p][p]For my 24 hour challenge I will be crafting, with some gaming if I need a change of pace. My chosen charity is Cats Protection. They improve the lives of all cats and kittens in their care and ensure their health is cared for before finding them a suitable new home. When looking for a new addition to our family we visited Cats Protection in Warrington. They introduced us to our two boys Harry and Ron. Sadly Harry recently passed away through tragic circumstances, but we still have Ron and our three ladies. We are ever grateful for the work and commitment which Cats Protection provide to any cat whenever it is needed.[/p][p]Chris - The List Maker[/p][p]For our third 24 Hour challenge my chosen charity is Mind. Having lived with a sufferer of mental health problems for a number of years I know the importance of the charities out there who support them and their families. This year I will be gaming on Xbox as well as crafting (crocheting, cross stitch and diamond painting).[/p][p]Isobel and Madison - Crafting Sisters[/p][p]Cousins of Chris and Kim, Isobel and Madison are joining us for their first 24 hour challenge. They will be crafting as well as some gaming.[/p][p]Kim - The Speedy Stitcher[/p][p]For her challenge, Kim will be crafting as well as gaming for 24 hours - Diamond Painting, Cross Stitching, Crocheting - you name it, this talented lady does it! She's chosen to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Christie. [/p][p]In her own words - Our family was suddenly affected by cancer in 2018. Sadly my Dad passed away in November, we also lost my Nanna earlier in the year. My Dad spent a lot of time at The Christie and the staff were an amazing support during this time. 24 Hour Game Heroes was a concept established by Macmillan Cancer Support, getting together with other gamers and friends to support each other in raising money for any charity that is close to our hearts.[/p][p]Susan - The Stitch Queen[/p][p]Our Grandma of the team, Susan will be crafting mainly cross stitch, crocheting and some diamond painting which is a new craft for her this month! For her first 24 hours challenge, Susan’s chosen charities are also Christies and Macmillan. In 2018 Susan’s mother Joyce and husband David both passed away from cancer. David spent a lot of time at the Christie and the support during that time was amazing from both Christies and Macmillan.[/p][p]Stacey - Team Captain, Spreadsheet Guru[/p][p]For my challenge, I'll be gaming for 24 hours and this year, I've chosen to raise funds for Oxford Hospitals Charity. As many of my friends and family are aware, in January this year my son Lewis had major skull surgery in order to correct Metopic Craniosynostosis, a rare condition where the skull fuses prematurely. We were in hospital for 6 days in total, and will forever be grateful for the care and support that the Craniofacial team at John Radcliffe Hospital have provided and continue to provide to my family. [/p][p]Thanks for reading our team story, and thanks for your support![/p]
