My story

[p]Hi, [/p][p]thanks for visiting our page.[/p][p]The Three Peaks Challenge: Our team (Myself,Jenny McLynn, Benjamin Lamping & Atreya Kuchibhatla) will be taking on one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge, a physically and mentally demanding course, with participants taking on the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike(978m) and Snowdon (1,085m), all within 24 hours. Over that time, we will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m. This is a serious challenge which requires a good level of fitness, as well as plenty of grit and determination.[/p][p]Each mountain is, depending on weather conditions, expected to take up to 5 hours to climb and descend for a "strong walker" (whoever might fit that profile), with a total driving time of 10 hours.[/p][p]When: 12th July & 13th July 2019[/p][p][br][/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations. [/p][p]The Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey has been reaching out to disadvantaged young people in inner city London for over a hundred years.[/p][p]They welcome around 500 young people every week. The doors are open to all young people, from all backgrounds, between six and 24 years. They build long-term relationships with young people through regular social interaction.[/p][p]Every week they run six open access clubs and over twenty specialised clubs, including arts, sports and training sessions. Targeted youthwork includes disability work, girls work, NEET work (young people Not in Education, Employment or Training), apprenticeships, young volunteers, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, day trips and residentials.[/p][p]The young people they work with may be:[/p][p]in care or leaving care;[/p][p]an ex offender leaving prison;[/p][p]a young carer looking after a parent;[/p][p]young people facing abuse at home;[/p][p]those at risk of homelessness or offending;[/p][p]young people with disabilities.[/p][p]Every young person has potential and they work intensively to inspire young people to reach their potential and contribute positively to the community in which they live. You can help us with this life changing work and donate to The Salmon Youth Centre![/p]
