My story

[p]I have pledged with Muslim Aid to raise £5000 for the orphans of Yemen. This is a cause very close to my heart as recently i suddenly lost my beautiful boy Abdul-Haadi aged 3.5 years. [/p][p]I Suppose it is my maternal instinct which is directing me to help those who are less fortunate. My son never got the chance, which is why i would like you to help me give a chance to those children still blessed with life, give them a better quality of life by providing them with the basic necessities such as food and clean water. [/p][p]Here is the current situation in Yemen:[/p][p]Right now 22 million people in Yemen are in desperate need of our help.8.4 million people do not know how they will get their next meal and are at risk of starvation. Children are the most vulnerable, with one child under 5 years dying every 10 minutes from preventable causes. This humanitarian crisis is quite literally the worst the world has seen in decades. We must act now to avert a deadly famine.[/p][p]Children are wasting away – it is heartbreaking.[/p][p]Already 2.9 million children are acutely malnourished and 462,000 are severely malnourished and at risk of dying.[/p][p]1.1 million people are suffering in a Cholera outbreak that is killing rapidly in already desperate conditions. [/p][p]The situation is critical - millions of people are at risk of starvation, disease and violence. And with the conflict escalating it is likely that food and medical supplies will become even more scarce.[/p][p][br][/p][p]We can’t let this go on. [/p][p]Muslim Aid is working with our partners to deliver food, clean water, healthcare, and essential non-food items. We will not stand by and watch this devastation unfold, we are ready to respond.[/p][p]Our efforts are only made possible with your support. You help could save lives[/p][p][br][/p][p]Millions of people are in need right now. Will you help?[/p][p]£60 could provide regular and sustainable access to clean water[/p][p]£150 could provide an emergency survival pack including water, blankets, cooking utensils and other essential non-food items[/p]
