[p]Scots Guardsmen, rowing for heroes in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. Rowing 5,000 kilometres, unassisted across the Atlantic Ocean to support our Veterans, serving Sodiers and their families.[/p][p][url=http://rowforheroes.co.uk]rowforheroes.co.uk[/url][/p][p]John Ford Derek Spence, John Adams, Colin Corfield and their boat - The Atlantic Guardsman - have rowed the Atlantic in December 2019 in support of The Scots Guards Charity. The charity supports serving and retired soldiers and their families. Providing assistance through many means, providing support in their times of most CRITICAL need. The Scots Guards supported them as they set out on their Atlantic conquest. We are very grateful for their support.[/p][p]The idea we could conquer the Atlantic germinated in the Sahara, when two of us were running the MdS – the World’s Toughest Footrace. The next challenge had to be the World’s Toughest Row. We recruited two other like minds and here we are.[/p][p]The Atlantic Row involved some 1.5 million oar strokes, 39 days at sea, 15 metre waves, rowing shifts of a minimum two hours on; two hours off, 24/7. More people have climbed Everest than rowed an ocean. [/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
