My story

[p]Team Moredun tackle the virtual London Marathon![/p][p]A team made up of staff from the Moredun Foundation communications group and The Equine Grass Sickness Fund are taking on the virtual London Marathon to raise unds for a new Equine Grass Sickness Research Fellow.[/p][p]Beth Wells, Lee Innes and Amy Tyndall are hiking the length of the full marathon, whilst Hazel Rice and Kate Thomson have opted for half each! The hardy team have 24 hours to complete the 26.2 mile challenge on Sunday 4th October. Runner Vicky Sinksi is running the distance, finishing the last few miles walking alongside her grass sickness survivor, handsome gelding Alfie.[/p][p]The EGS Fellow is part of the Moredun Centenary Fellowship project, designed to give outstanding young scientists the opportunity to breathe new ways of thinking and new approaches to animal welfare, in an attempt to crack some of the most difficult and complex diseases. Indeed, grass sickness was an early subject of Moredun investigations, yet 100 years later it very little is known about this devastating disease.[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XPluyrLhcpU?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo][p][br][/p][p]* * * * * * [/p][p]To learn more about the EGS Fellowship, visit the Moredun website: [/p][p][gt][gt] https://www.moredun.org.uk/research/fellowships[/p][p]To learn more about EGS, visit their dedicated website:[/p][p][gt][gt] https://grasssickness.org.uk/[/p]
