My story

[p]Thank you for visiting our team's fundraising page for the 2020 London legal sponsored walk. We're taking on 10K for justice on the 5th October.[/p][p]Despite the postponement of the London Legal Walk due to COVID-19, many of us will still be marking 8th June with a virtual 10,000 Steps for Justice, before coming together in solidarity and support for frontline free legal advice services at the main walk in October. The virus is creating an urgent and unprecedented need for advice agency services and it is vital that they continue to receive funding during this difficult period.[/p][p]Our team is: Tracy Holland, Lowri Peploe-Williams, Aurelia Winter, Neera Patel[/p][p]We are walking with the Lord Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which funds Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London.[/p][p]Two-thirds of the UK population don’t know how to get legal advice and 14 million people who live in poverty can’t afford to pay for it. The London Legal Walk raises vital funds to ensure access to justice for some of our communities’ most poor and vulnerable people. [/p][p]The event supports over 100 legal advice agencies in London and the South East. We know that these agencies do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly, fighting discrimination and exploitation.[/p][p]We also know how short they are of the funds to continue that work.[/p][p]Please sponsor our walkers as generously as you are able[/p][p]Many thanks for your support[/p]
