Team story

[p]What happens when you're faced with a pandemic that shuts down the world and in the UK you’re limited to 1 hour exercise a day but your body is too sore from playing rugby all your life to run.....? Simple, buy a bike and get cycling of course! Better still set yourself a challenge and raise some money for charity achieving a goal![/p][p]We are all different levels of cyclists. Some have a bike for all terrains and cycle on a regular basis and others have bought their 1st bike in 30 years or more![/p][p]Around the time of the lock down being eased one of the lads in the team said “who's up for a challenge, anyone up for doing the C2C” ???[/p][p]So here we are with some careful planning, one ear on the news for Covid-19 updates, a few miles on two wheels under our belts, chains oiled, seat heights set, lycra fitting where it touches and we're almost ready to go![/p][p]On Friday October 9th we set off from Whitehaven and make our way to Sunderland - 136 miles, the odd hill or 2 to get up and down and of course staying within Boris’s rules and regulations……[/p][p]We have chosen Wooden Spoon as our charity because they fund life changing projects across the UK and Ireland that support children and young people with disabilities or living in disadvantage. [/p][p]In the last reported year they have funded projects that have helped 115,000 children and their families working with the rugby community. In 2020 Wooden Spoon want to change even more children's lives and as many of us are ex rugby players and dads we wanted to help make a small difference![/p]
