Team story

[p]Very sadly, both Brian Hoadley, Tiger Chairman and Amanda Shannon, beloved wife of John, our Commercial Director, died in 2016 after 12 months+ battling Grade 4 GBM brain tumours.[/p][p]To commemorate and celebrate these dear friends, partners and loved ones, eight crazy Tigers will attempt to ascend the Three National Peaks within a 24-hour period, raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity (1150054) and Innercycle (1179976) Charities. Raising money for these amazing charities will only spur us on to complete this challenge.[/p][p]We hope you will assist us in our endeavour, donate to our cause, and help us reach our goals. All donations, no matter how small, are gratefully received.[/p][p]About the Three Peaks[/p][p]The Three Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in 'one go'. These peaks are Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales.[/p][p]A popular misconception is that the three mountains that form the challenge are the three tallest on the British mainland. Rather, they are the tallest mountains within each representative country: Scafell Pike (978m) is the tallest in England; Snowdon (1085m), the tallest in Wales and Ben Nevis (1345m) the tallest in Scotland — over one hundred peaks in Scotland are higher than Scafell Pike, and 56 higher than Snowdon.[/p][p]With a total trekking time of 15 hours or less, we’ll climb around 3064 metres (10,052 ft), and have walked approx. 23 miles (37km). The total driving distance is 462 miles. It’s no wonder this charity challenge is the most highly regarded trekking challenge in the UK![/p][p]We travel to Fort William on the Friday, starting with Ben Nevis on the Saturday morning, climb Scafell Pike that night and finish Snowdon on Sunday in Wales. This is a tough event and we are all getting physically and mentally prepared to do this with limited to no sleep![/p][p]Feeling generous, jealous or just relieved it's not you taking part? all of us here at Tiger would greatly appreciate it. We know that money can be tight, so please know that even £5 helps us get closer to the goal.[/p]
