Team story

[p]We will be running the 2019 London Marathon to raise money for two causes close to our hearts.[/p][p]Firstly for the Hertfordshire Breast Appeal who have been a great support to Lois' mum, Ursula, over the last few months. The charity has set up a dedicated Breast Unit in Hertfordshire to help those that have recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, to offer support that will help them by providing the best care available, and to help their families. Mum was lucky her cancer was found early & following a successful operation, we expect her treatment to finish after a course of radiotherapy - maybe we'll even sign her up for next year's marathon![/p][p]Secondly for the Oxford Hospitals Charity. Earlier this summer one of Tim’s best friends, Kieran, was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma (a rare type of brain tumour). He was rushed to hospital and underwent a 14 hour surgery; since then he has been going through a range of treatment including many sessions of radiotherapy. During these months he has been cared for at the John Radcliffe and Churchill hospitals in Oxford. The Oxford Hospitals Charity supports both of these hospitals and helps to provide the best medical equipment, research and facilities for patients like Kieran.[/p][p]Thank you so much for all your support & donations - all donations are spilt equally between the charities. This is the first marathon either of us have run & we’ve got 23 weeks of training to go! We completed the Hertfordshire Half Marathon in preparation today - Tim in 1:44 & Lois in 2:00. Although we'll do some training together, Tim has assured me 'it's every man for himself out there'![/p][p]Love from [/p][p]Tim & Lois x[/p]
