100k in a day

[p]We at Guildford Green watch are using our new 12 hour day shift for good by running 100 kilometres in one 7am to 7pm shift! [/p][p]On Sunday 7th June 2020 we will be running 100k outside the front of the station on a treadmill, sharing the miles between 8 of us! [/p][p]We are doing it for both the Community Foundation for Surrey to aid their Coronavirus Response Fund and The Firefighters Charity who help sick and injured firefighters and their families. [/p][p]The funds raised by Community Foundation for Surrey's Coronavirus Response Fund are going to help the most vulnerable people in our community at this time. So far they have been able to support a wide range of groups from Food Banks to charities reaching out to victims of domestic abuse, those suffering with mental ill-health and the elderly and isolated.[/p][p]The firefighters charity provides psychological and physical rehabilitation to the UK Fire Service community at three centres across England as well as recuperation breaks and various other types of social support. This year, the coronavirus pandemic has brought The Fire Fighters Charity's traditional fundraising to a halt, with the cancellation or postponement of countless events and challenges. We are hoping to raise a small amount of the £10m it takes to provide those services because we know that when we need the Fire Service, they are there for us, so we should be there for them too.[/p][p]If your struggling don’t worry but if you feel you can help then please donate here or use the charity buckets outside the station if your passing!
