Team story

[p]Now I have an update on this. The jury is out on who has got the wrong end of the stick, but Tommo is NOT running The Great North Run after all.[/p][p]However, he is running another half-marathon on the same day, but in Wales, so the challenge is on.[/p][p]Yeap, there are a few hundred miles between the two races but hey, let's not let that be a problem.[/p][p]So, they will both be running the same distance on the same day and he who gets the best time will hold the title.[/p][p]You know they say working with children and animals is hard, try working with these himself and Tommo, then a sticky fingers and elephant poopl seems like a walk in the park! [/p][p]------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------[/p][p]OK, We know that everybody has already been more than generous - the almost £16,000 total on The Every Inch Of Tarmac page is more than proof of this.[/p] [p]The last thing we want to do is push our luck.[/p] [p]However, this is unique, this is big, (no it is not THE big announcement - that will be made on The Every Inch Of Tarmac blog, (www.everyinchoftarmac.com or www.facebook.com/everyinchoftarmac), in a few weeks time).[/p] [p]No. this is almost as big but just as exciting.[/p] [p]You see when Howard ran the London Marathon his time was 2 seconds faster than Tommo's personal best for a marathon.[/p] [p]Now, it may only be 2 seconds but as Howard keeps saying 2 seconds is 2 seconds.[/p] [p]Tommo is not happy.[/p] [p]So, The Great North Run falls in block leave, both are running for Tommy's and both are setting out on a mission.[/p] [p]Howard is set on maintaining his prowess as the quicker, Tommo is set on winning back his crown.[/p] [p]The Great North Run is a half-marathon and so this is a new title, but there is male pride and egos at stake. [/p] [p]Who will be the champ? This is a real head to head over the half-marathon distance.[/p] [p]At this point I would just like to point out that I am not taking part in this crazy head to head business, I will be running The Great North Run but there is no competitive spirit, I will be plodding along at my own pace......[/p] [p]So, if you would like to support this craziness please do donate. Every penny goes to Tommy's - a charity that means so much to us and many of our friends.[/p] [p]Rather than repeating it all here, to find out why we are doing what we are doing please take a look at the blog www.everyinchoftarmac.com or www.facebook.com/everyinchoftarmac. The first few posts ever, (and quite a few others), will explain everything.[/p]
