Team story

[p]We are a group of bereaved parents and Twins Trust employees. The bereavement group supports many families whose babies / children have died from a twin or triplet pregnancy. The money raised will help to provide support to those that have been bereaved, in various ways, such as helping towards Meet Ups across the country, providing training and opportunities for the befrienders to meet allowing them to continue to give the great support that they currently offer as well as helping to provide support booklets and leaflets for bereaved parents and for health professionals. The link shows more detail of the support we offer.[/p][p]https://twinstrust.org/bereavement.html[/p][p]Update- due to the Coronavirus our 10k run has been cancelled. We will now being doing the 10k or in some instances 5k as a virtual run on the 23rd May. This will be more of a challenge to those who are not runners as they will now be running alone without any supporters.[/p][p]We have also decided to rearrange our run for as soon as we can to run together as planned.[/p][p]Therefore many of us will be doing two runs![/p][p]We are all disappointed but will be trying to make the best of the situation.[/p][p]Stay safe.[/p][p]Here is our team.[/p][p]Sharon Darke - I am running in memory of my twin boys Charlie and Joshua who would now be 20. The Twins Trust bereavement group has been my main support and now I am privileged to work for them as the bereavement group coordinator.[/p][p]Sally Fox- I am running in memory of our twins Max and Tobin to help raise money to support other parents who have lost their precious babies through the Twins Trust Bereavement Support Group.[/p][p]Sam Adams- After losing my daughter Chloe I've met the most amazing friends through twins trust. Without them I don't know where I would be. [/p][p]Lucy Klimowicz- I am running in honour of my beautiful baby girl Annabel who died when she was 2 days old in August and for our little survivor Charlie who is our light in the darkness. The twins trust bereavement group has been my safe space and I'm so grateful for all that it has helped me through.[/p][p]Sarah Miles- Sarah is running in memory of her twin daughter Eva who died in 2011 aged six months. She is raising funds for Twins Trust BSG which has been a lifeline of support and friendship over the years.[/p][p]Louise and Steven Bowman- Louise works at Twins Trust and helps support the bereavement group. I am not really a runner but I am inspired by each and every person in our bereavement group and that is what will keep me going on the day. Steven has run 3 marathons in the past and is looking forward to putting his running shoes on again.[/p][p]Cat Hardwick- I am running in memory of my gorgeous Benjamin Caleb who was born sleeping in 2015 and for my sunshine survivor Nathanael James. The Twins Trust bereavement group has been a wonderful inspiring source of support and understanding over the years and I can’t wait to run this race for them![/p][p]Pui Smith- I am running in memory of my twin daughter Esme who died 5 days before she was born in 2010. The Twins Trust Bereavement Group has always been such an amazing support for me & I'm really looking forward to running for them.[/p][p]Adrienne and Stuart Muir- We are running in memory of our lovely son John who died when he was 8 days old. Running with the wonderful supportive members of the Twins Trust bereavement team is an honour. We will be thinking of all of our lost little angels. Raising money and our heart rates for a great cause :) [/p][p]Suzie Scofield- I am running in memory of my twin baby boys, Rory and Daniel, who died in 2012. The bereavement support group has offered me so much support and friendship over the years. The silver lining in all the sadness are moments like this, when we all come together in support.[/p][p]Keith Reed- CEO of Twins Trust- Keith is running for all of our babies that have died in the bereavement group. I am sure he won’t mind me telling you that he is not a runner![/p][p]Sam Rumens- Running in memory of twins Jacob and George who were born in 2011. It really helped to speak to a Twin Trust befriender after losing the boys. I have gone on to become a befriender myself and met lots of amazing people through the charity on my journey.[/p][p]Sal Quao - I am running in memory of our twins Alexander and Antonia born June 2012. The Twins Trust Bereavement group have helped because they understand multiple pregnancies. They provided fantastic support and have a great aid in the path forward.[/p][p]Sarah Healy-I had a high risk twin pregnancy in 2015. My boys were sharing the same placenta & one was smaller than the other. At 17 weeks I had laser surgery to cut the blood vessels they were sharing. At 19 weeks we lost the heartbeat of the smallest and named him Charlie, & Nicolas the hopeful survivor. I found out about the bereavement support group & requested to join the Facebook group. The 20 week scan Nicolas was doing well but a week later when going to the midwife we had lost his heartbeat too. I was able on that Friday to contact Sharon who provided me with a befriender whom I was able to chat with ahead of giving birth to the boys on the Sunday. I was added to the Facebook group & have gone to a memorial service meeting with the group.[/p][p]Joel Meadows- I am running in memory of my son Arthur James Meadows who passed away from a life limiting condition in July 2017. I am supported by Arthur’s twin sister Eloise and my wife, Katherine. Tamba have been an incredible help to us and being able to talk to our befriender has enabled us to navigate our way through the last three years. I am hoping to raise lots of money for this incredible organisation![/p][p]George Slade- I am running in memory of my daughter Heidi who passed aged 7 and a half months old in 2015. The twins trust bereavement support group have helped my family and I through some tough times with support and guidance and I know they will be there for us in the future. I will be cheered on by my No.1 supporter, Heidi’s twin sister Molly![/p][p]Nicky and Andy Deans – Nicky works at Twins Trust. I haven’t run for many years, but have dusted off my trainers during lock down to attempt the 10k run this Saturday. Andy will be coming along to make sure I keep running, and carry me home at the end! We are both keen to support our Bereavement Support Group volunteers in recognition of the amazing work they do for Twins Trust.[/p]
