Team story

[p]During the 13 years of Thomas and Alice’s lives, the Evelina London hospital has been a  frequent feature.  Our family has spent three of the past 13 years not at home but in this hospital.  Many of our most intensely challenging (and most rewarding) moments have been spent alongside the wonderful people who work in the hospital.  As you can imagine, we have forged some close friendships.    [/p][p]Now it’s time for us to say thank you. This fundraising initiative is for those friends at the Evelina who have stood by us through thick and thin – the superhero doctors who have saved our twins’ lives on countless occasions, the nurses who have calmed  them through the long and painful nights, the physios, OTs, speech and language therapists, dietitians, school and play specialists who have put our children back together again after their illnesses.  [/p][p]We particularly want to thank our friends on the Complex Motor Disorders team, the Savannah Neurological ward and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.  They are the best team at the best hospital in the world.  [/p][p]So how do we say a proper thank you to these incredible people?  There's only one way... by subjecting ourselves to significant amounts of pain.  So…[/p][ul][li]In April, Georgie and her sister Edwina will be running the London marathon – Boom![/li][li]In May, the whole family – wheelchairs and all – will be climbing Pen Y Fan, Southern Britain’s highest mountain, supported by family and friends – Bosh![/li][li]In June, James is planning to climb Mont Blanc with his brother Rupert, his sister Emma and his brother-in-law Kris – Ouch![/li][li]In August, the whole family – twins, India and parents – will be taking part in the Super Heroes triathlon, a special event for disabled superheroes – Oof![/li][/ul][p]We would be enormously grateful if you would subject your bank accounts to equal amounts of discomfort – no pain, no gain.  Let your wallet be a winner![/p][p]With huge thanks,[/p][p]Georgie, James, Tommy, Alice, India, Edwina, Rupert, Emma, Kris and the Pen Y Fan gang xxxxxxxxxx[/p][vmgvideo class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WYjt1AkMy4o?showinfo=0&rel=0&iv_load_policy=3"][/vmgvideo]
