My story

[p]Despite all my best efforts to do the walk this weekend- I have finally been foiled by the national situation. The Society are rearranging this event for later in the year when we are not in a time of national crisis. I shall do the walk at that time. I hope that all my sponsors understand the situation and are willing to allow me to put forward the support at a later date. Thank you to you all and keep safe.[/p][p]I was diagnosed with von Willebrands Disease in my late 50's having suffered the effects of this genetic disease all my life. I knew next to nothing about the disease, and subsequently I found out that 5 other members of my immediate family are also affected. Most of the information we have about vWD has come from The Haemophilia Society. I am a member of the Lincolnshire Group of the Society and we support families affected by a bleeding disorder across part of the East Midlands. I am doing the Big Red London Bridge Walk to raise funds for both the Society and the Lincolnshire Group (50/50 split), in order that they can help other people like me with bleeding disorders. Thank you for your support.[/p]
