My story

[p]I am thrilled to be part of the London Marathon 2018! I feel lucky and privalidged every day to be here, let alone running marathons! In November 2013 I was in intensive care battling for my life with my two children both under 2 years of age... I contracted necrotising fasciitis which I found out afterwards is a very rare form of a flesh eating disease . I found out that I was extremely lucky to survive as it only has a 30% survival rate and most people leave hospital with life changing injuries... I was close to an amputated leg but because of the amazing and soft actions of the doctors nurses at George Elliot hospital in Nuneaton, Warwickshire . Ultimately they saved my life, but were very quick to tell me my health and fitness also played a huge part! Since then I have ran half marathons and marathons to raise money for this rare and misunderstood disease... funds are desperately needed to heighten awareness of symptoms and in the public and the professionals . The mum of Lee Sparks set up this foundation who sadly passed away from the disease... I was very lucky and will always be extremely grateful for that! [/p][p][br][/p][p]I am also raising money for wooden spoon, which is a rugby charity that raises money for disadvantaged children to give them a better start in life and I would like my company didi Rugby to have a good link with this charity to enhance the lives of children making them healthier, happier and more confident individuals through rugby age physical activity ????????[/p]
