My story

[p]I have been given a place to run the Virgin Money London Marathon in 2019 for a local charity that’s close to my heart called PROUD.[/p][p]PROUD is a parent led support group based in Walsall, West Midlands (UK) which was set up in August 2004 by parents who had children with Down’s syndrome[/p][p]Our aims are to provide for the needs of individuals with Down’s syndrome…[/p][p]To offer support, acceptance, advice and encouragement for parents, carers, family and friends of persons with Down’s syndrome.[/p][p]To increase awareness and knowledge of issues relating to Down’s syndrome.[/p][p]To educate the community about the presence, the potential and the needs of people with Down’s syndrome.[/p][p]PROUD is run by parents/carers of children with Down’s syndrome and we rely totally upon any donations that people send to us to help us. All donations received are spend on helping the children and their families living life to the full and we thank you for your kindness in the donations we receive.[/p][p]As well as doing other running events with #TeamHannah to raise funds I am also close to my new beautiful little nephew who has Downs Syndrome. I want to raise money to help him and give him support as he grows older and needs it as well as all the other beautiful babies, children and adults for special treats and to their parents for the extra support that these funds will give.[/p][p]please help me raise as much as possible [/p][p]This is my first marathon and probably the only time I will ever be able to get to London to do this as I also have three children with disabilities myself, the training for this will be tough becuse I am a single parent but I am going into this with eyes wide open and will give 100% to this at all times.[/p][p]My journey starts on Monday 22nd October 2018 which is quite fitting as October is Down’s syndrome awareness month.[/p]

What an incredible journey you've been on. I remember when you joined ARC and seeing how you've progressed has been amazing. With so much going on in your life the way you stay so positive is a credit to you. I've no doubt you'll finish. All the best.
