IS RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON

[p]I joined Jesuit Missions as Finance Officer in July 2018.[/p][p]Jesuit Missions is the international development agency and mission office of the Jesuits in Britain. For over 50 years JM has supported vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia and Latin America.[/p][p]I have been a recreational runner for many years and my aspiration has been to run the London Marathon since it began in 1981.[/p][p]This year JM has given me the opportunity and inspiration to run the 40th edition of this epic marathon. The motivation stems from the desire to raise funds in support of JM’s work. In particular, the efforts JM is making to help alleviate the impact of the dreadful food shortages being currently experienced in Zimbabwe, as a consequence of droughts caused by global warming. Child food poverty has reached unprecedented levels in [url=https://www.theguardian.com/world/zimbabwe]Zimbabwe[/url], with more than 70% of Zimbabwean children in rural areas living in poverty.
