My story

[p]Thank you for visiting our team's fundraising page for the 2020 London and Southampton Legal Walk 10xChallenge. Our offices had hoped to be able to participate in a rescheduled walk on the usual routes, but Covid-19 has once again put paid to that! So we have teamed up to do our challenges near our homes - with our team running, walking, cycling or thinking of novel ways to do something 10x. We are strongly encouraging showcasing any skills, talents and fancy dress. [/p][p]Our London team is: Emma Radmore, Lisa Jobson, Lisa Symons, Lucy Hadrill, George Matthew, Emily Gascoyne-Richards, Hannah Frost, Sophie Besley, Tim Barr, Alice Turvey, Harriet Ainsworth, Ian Hellawell, Sushma MacGeogh, Jan Foster, Paul Taylor, Hannah Ryan, Sarah Awan, Sharon Burgess, Mark Ratcliff, Matthew Hammond, Cat Preston, Alex Louch, Alexander Dickinson, Sarah White, Katie Simmonds, Amelia Green, Jo Rideout, Rae Ahmed, Jo Mitchell, Rosie Taylor, Jonathan Blair, Christina Hyatali[/p][p]Our Southampton team is: Emilie Gas, Rianna Farrow, Eleanor Bentley, Beth Handley-Garland, Amy Prime, Carly Holt, Kat Everington, Tim Burbidge, Ben Duxbury, Jenny Gibbs, Will Akerman, Sebastian Briggs, Elisha Langridge, Luke Betteridge, Eniko Szabo, Jacqui Carter, Nicki Shepherd, Luke Andruszewski, Emma Smith, Hannah Taylor[/p][p]We are completing the challenge with the Lord Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers remotely to raise funds for Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London and Southampton via the London Legal Support Trust.[/p][p]Two-thirds of the UK population don’t know how to get legal advice and 14 million people who live in poverty can’t afford to pay for it. The London Legal Walk raises vital funds to ensure access to justice for some of our communities’ most poor and vulnerable people. [/p][p]Your support is needed now more than ever with the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. Reduced funding in the charity sector means advice agencies are doing all they can to meet rising need despite a drastically restricted income. Emergency applications for funding are pouring in, with advice charities reporting up to a 600% increase in requests for help.[/p][p]The event supports over 100 legal advice agencies in London and the South East. We know that these agencies do a fantastic job in preventing homelessness, resolving debt problems, gaining care for the elderly, fighting discrimination and exploitation.[/p][p]Please sponsor our team as generously as you are able.[/p][p]Many thanks for your support.[/p]
