My story

[p][b]Update: Completed my first marathon in 05:19:40 - very happy and proud; have t-shirt and medal. However, please consider donating money to MapAction even after the marathon as the donation page will continue to run for another few weeks before it closes. [/b][/p][p][b]Details of my entire preparation and the actual day is all on my blog. Click on the link below. It is safe for work. [/b][/p][p][b]Thank you to all my current donors - you really, made a big difference. Your donation encouraged me to keep training, to keep on running and get to the end. Thank you![/b][/p][p][/p][hr/][span=color: #999999;]Hello! [/span][p][span=color: #999999;]You know what? I want your money. Not all of it. Not even a half of it. Just a couple of quid (or more) in time for the [b]London Marathon 2013[/b]. For this, you can see me wheeze and struggle my way round. It should be worth the money![/span][/p][span=color: #999999;] [/span][p][span=color: #999999;]I am doing this for [url=http://www.mapaction.org][b]MapAction[/b][/url], my favourite charity. As I do need a good reason. [/span][/p][span=color: #999999;] [/span][p][span=color: #999999;]This follows my sponsored, 100km, [b]Trailwalker [/b]endurance walk (organised through Oxfam) about four years ago. I have some gruesome pictures of the effect that this had on my feet. Now that I have [lt]span style="text-decoration: underline;"[gt]finally[/span] recovered, I am going for the marathon. Unfortunately for me, I intend to run this one and not walk it.[lt]/span[gt][/p][span=color: #999999;] [/span][p][span=color: #999999;]I am using Virgin Money Giving, and they assure me that they are not-for-profit organisation and will claim gift aid on MapAction's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/span][/p][p][span=color: #999999;]Keep up to date with my progress on my funny (well I think it's funny) blog: [url=http://www.runmingrun.com/]http://www.runmingrun.com/[/url][/span][/p][p][span=color: #999999;]Ming[/span][/p]

I guess it's a little more strenuous than the torch relay - but far more worthwhile. Well done.
