Team story

[p]Team Update:[/p][p]WE DID IT![/p][p]We even won “best fancy dress” medals. [/p][p]I’m so proud of team Where’s Waldy and all that we achieved. It was tough, so tough but I did it in 00:58:53 so smashed my target of under an hour. We had the amazing Mike and Neil pushing kids in buggies for 10k up all the damn hills. Laura pushed so hard to get in just seconds over an hour. Jola and Jen kept us company and talked us round the course when we were struggling. Unfortunately an injured Matt was unable to run but was still very much part of the team in cheering us on at the finish. It really and truely was a team effort. [/p][p]—————————————————[/p][p]It was so much fun we're doing it again!![/p][p]On 9 June the Where’s Waldy? Team will run the 2 Castles Run which is a 10k run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle whilst pushing 2 buggies!! We will do this dressed as Wally from the Where’s Wally? books to raise money for a very small but extremely important charity called WMUK and to raise awareness of a rare form of blood cancer called Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia (WM).[/p][p]Last year we did it in 01:07:37 and this year we'd love to do it in under an hour but that's a big feat. We welcome 4 new Waldy's to the team; Mike and Jola speedy runners and Joss and Rowan buggy occupants! [/p][p]There is currently no cure for WM. More research is needed into this rare blood cancer, as are more drug trials but charities need money to fund these. Hence our fundraising. Living with this rare cancer brings loneliness and immense uncertainty. WMUK have helped Cat to understand more about her diagnosis and provide some hope that a cure may be found in her lifetime.[/p][p]WMUK is a unique not for profit organisation and a registered charity, developed jointly to bring WM patients and medical professionals closer together to improve the treatment of WM. They also assist WM research in the UK and are involved in patient advocacy at UK and EU level. [/p][p]We need to find a cure and the sooner the better. Please help us raise money for WMUK so they can continue supporting patients with, and research into, this rare blood cancer.[/p][p]Any pennies greatly received.[/p][p]Thank you for reading our story.[/p][p]The Where’s Waldy? Team on behalf of WMUK (Cat, Matt, Neil, Laura, Joss, Rowan, Jenny, Mike & Jola)[/p]
